Super Kick (Soccer) Did You Know?
In the late 1976 Schaper released the Super Jock line of toys that featured a spring/lever mechanism that drove kids everywhere crazy! The gimmick? Smack these guys on the head and they perform dazzling sports moves! Ok, not so dazzling but they would shoot a hoop, kick a football, swing a hockey stick and so on. Yup, these guys could do it all, without steroids, without endorsements, without sponsers and without a personal trainer. If you had the football set, you would cock Super Jock's leg, place the ball on the tee, and give SJ a good thump on the helmet. If you pounded him hard enough and if you had him lined up correctly, he would boot the ball through the goal post. If you were the owner of the basketball game, you had to cock Super Jock's arm, put a ball in his hand, and then clunk him on the head to make him launch the ball at the net. The baseball player was a little different. He had a swivel hip so that you could cock his body back in a pre-swing position. A sharp blow to his head caused him to spring back, swinging his large, flat bat at the pitch. The hockey player swung his super stick with a tap on the helmet.
As one might expect this series did much better overseas where soccer was/is truly popular and was released by the big overseas distributors Palitoy and Harbert. They even released country specific versions - perfect for those screaming soccer fans everywhere!
Super Jock was sold to Milton Bradley in the early 1980s and they promptly re-issued the Basketball and Football sets. Sadly for Milton Bradley the series did not do as well the second time around because by then battery-powered toys were much more popular. Great move by Schaper and although they never produced another toy as popular as this line they definitely stole our hearts with this one.

Athletes of all sorts need to pay particular attention their diet and what they eat. Meatloaf may not be thought of as a healthy meal for athletes, but it can be if made with the right ingredients. How long do you cook a meatloaf in the oven? It depends on the size of the meatloaf and whether you use ground beef or turkey.
